The Problem
The problem isn't the van. It's what happens when you stop.
Van travel works well in motion. The vehicle handles flexibility, mobility, the ability to go where the day leads. What it doesn't handle is the moment you want to stay. When the site is worth it and you want somewhere to eat, sit, or wait out rain without folding back inside.
The instinct is to make do. For short stops, that's fine. For the trips worth taking, it stops being enough.
Most van travelers who want more reach for a traditional pole awning. What they find is a setup sequence, rigid joints that need re-tensioning when wind moves through, and a structure that asks you to manage it rather than live in it.
Isabella has been engineering canvas and structure systems since 1957. The X-Tension Air is built from that knowledge. Not a shortcut to a simpler awning. A considered answer to what a van awning actually needs to do.
Shipping & Returns
Shipping Overview
We ship all Isabella products from our Indianapolis warehouse. Standard parcel orders (awnings, accessories, furniture, etc.) are shipped via UPS, FedEx, or freight depending on size and weight. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and the items in your cart.
Delivery Timing
Most standard orders ship within 1–3 business days. Transit times vary by carrier and distance.
Freight Shipments
Larger items may ship via freight. In these cases, a carrier will contact you directly to schedule delivery.
Returns & Exchanges
We accept returns on new, unused products within 30 days of delivery. Items must be in original packaging.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect.
Some products require inspection before approval due to their size and construction.
Exceptions
Certain large-format products, including the Camp-let tent trailer, follow specialized freight, delivery, and return procedures.

What makes this product unique
One valve, and the frame is up.
Poles are the reason awnings stay in the bag. Finding the right one, threading it in the wind, doing it again in the dark when something has shifted.
Air X-Tension has X-shaped inflatable beams and a single valve. The pump is in the box. Ten to fifteen minutes and the shape is standing, under IsaLight at 195 g/m2 on a 380 g/m2 base.
Two valves open to deflate, so it comes down faster than it went up.
The van stops being the whole trip.
89 sq ft of floor and 92.5 in to the roof means you stand up, cook, and sit down somewhere that is not the sliding door.
Front, back and one side come off when the weather is good. The fixed side has a net window and the curtains are built in, so evenings work with it closed too.
Wet coats, bikes, a table and four chairs. All of it is in here rather than in the way.
Fifteen minutes is still fifteen minutes.
Inflatable does not mean instant. You peg it, you square it to the van, and then you inflate. In wind it takes longer, and it takes two people to make it pleasant.
It is also 51 lb packed, which is a real thing to lift into a van that is already full.
What you get for it is a room you can stand up in, with no pole set to lose, bend or thread in the dark. We would make that trade again.
For van owners who stay put for more than a night.
This is for people who park somewhere for three or four days and want the van to stop being the only room.
If you move every morning, 51 lb and fifteen minutes each way is the wrong shape of effort, and a roll-out awning with a Wind Side is the better answer.
If you settle in, the X-Tension is where the week happens.
